Credo of Christian Education

We believe that Christian Education is absolutely necessary in any society and that it is an essential element in the work of the church. It has been commanded by God in His Word "These commandments that I give you today are to be upon your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you lie down and when you get up." (Deuteronomy 6:6 & 7 - NIV)

We believe one of the primary purposes of Christian education is to enable man to praise and glorify God and reflect his attitude in witnessing to his fellow man.

We believe that Christian education teaches a child the proper relation to God and then also a proper relationship to his fellow man. Christian education must not only teach about God and His Word, but also that we learn to live it, thereby strengthening the local congregation and the church at large. This relationship will also cause a concern for others, such as the poor and needy. Christian education prepares pupils for a service to God and to mankind.

We believe that the Lutheran School is unique because:

* We have adequate time for religious instruction.
* Discipline is based on our relationship with God.
* The impact of professional teachers who are Christians.
* The plus of the "Body of Christ" at work and atmosphere conducive to experiencing Christianity at work.
* And, we try to meet all the needs of the child in a single school setting.

We believe that effective Christian education is carried on through quality learning programs that relate the Christian faith to every aspect of life, and programs in which experience plays an important part in our teaching.

Finally, we believe that the family exerts much influence on the child's education, and that the church and school must equip adults for their important role in Christian education. As we prepare the child to assume the duties and responsibilities, our main concern is that the child goes through this life with his eyes focused on heaven.
