Frequently Asked Questions?

Do you have to be Lutheran or be a
member of St. Paul's to attend?

No. You don't have to be Lutheran or a member to come to St. Paul's. Roughly 50% of the students that attend our school belong to other churches. Families with varying Christian backgrounds feel very comfortable at SPL.

In which communities do your students live?
Of course some of our families come from Cheney but because we are so centrally located we do have families that come from Wichita, which is only 25 minutes away. We also have families coming from many other surrounding areas such as Kingman, Conway Springs, Maize, Goddard, Mt. Hope, Murdock and more.

Does St. Paul's offer before and after school child care?
Yes. We offer a program called R.E.A.L. Kids which begins at 6:30am, and an after school program which is offered from 3:00pm-6:00pm.

Does St. Paul's require students to wear uniforms?
No. We have a "Dress Code" that has been developed but does not require students to wear uniforms.

Are your teachers certified?
Yes. All teachers, grade K-8, are state certified. All our teachers have gone through special training. We believe that certified staff shows a commitment to finding qualified teachers to be responsible for your child's education.

Is St. Paul's Accredited by the State of Kansas?
Yes. We are a Christian School that is fully accredited by the Kansas State Department of Education (KSDE)

Do you have a Parent-Teacher organization?
Yes. The Parent Teacher League (PTL) meets once a month. We encourage all parents to be participants in PTL.

How often do your students attend Chapel?
The Grade School students attend chapel every Wednesday at 8:15am in the Church sanctuary. Chapel is generally 45 min and parents are welcome to attend. The last Wed. of each month we have Baptismal Remembrance during chapel for anyone celebrating their baptism birthday. Twice a month the preschool children join us for chapel as well.

What is Chapel?
Chapel is a time to sing praises to the Lord and meditate on His word. Chapel is lead by the Pastor at St. Paul's Lutheran Church.
