Interest Groups
Interest Groups are individuals gathered around a specific personal interest. They develop relationships with others who share that interest. There are many different groups organized. Eating out, Bridge, Cooking, Servant Events are just some of the groups that meet. Interest groups and their time of gathering is available by calling 542-0115. As Lutheran Women in Mission, the Lutheran Women's Missionary League (LWML) is a mission focused group of the congregation and Synod. All ladies and young women of the congregation are encouraged to come and be an active participant at the meetings. LWML meets evenings of the third Wednesday of the month, except during July or August. Meetings include a topic, work on a service project and a business meeting. LWML sponsors Bible studies for all interested ladies.The group has an opportunity to meet women from other congregations at the Spring Mission Day and the Fall Workshop held at different churches in the area. The LWML also hosts "Advent by Candlelight", an elegant and inspirational early Advent evening attended by many women of the congregation and community. Lutheran Youth Fellowship is the name of the high school age youth. They meet once a month for Bible study and once a month for a Fellowship Activity. The group seeks to minister to one another, the congregation and community. LYF participates in District and Synodical Youth Gatherings. They also try to include a major trip into their program each year. Parents and single adults help to sponsor the LYF. The LYF leads the Thanksgiving Worship of the congregation each year at 10 AM.
This informal group is made up of men and women who enjoy gathering on the 2nd Sunday evening of the month to play cards and enjoy other activities. Composed of older adults, it is open to all generations and people. Volunteer hosts and hostesses plan the card playing activity and the refreshments for the evening.
