St. Paul's offers Sunday School opportunities for the entire family! We invite you to attend Sunday school as a wonderful opportunity to grow in the Word of God and and in your relationships with others at St. Paul's.
Youth Sunday School
Youth Sunday school is offered for preschool-high school students. We use a team teaching approach, so your child will experience several different individuals sharing God's Word and investing their time and efforts in the youth of St. Paul's. We start together as one large group for opening that involves sharing prayer requests and prayers, recognizing birthday and baptism birthdays, and singing traditional Sunday school songs. Kids then split into different classes to go through the weekly lesson from CPH's Enduring Faith curriculum.
Adult Sunday School
Word Made Flesh in the Gospel of John
Starting Sunday, May 17 at 9:30AM
Jesus said to Philip, “Whoever has seen Me has seen the Father.” (Jn. 14:9) Think of it: God in the flesh! How would an unbounded, unstoppable God do that? What would it be like to encounter Him? Would He approach us as friend or foe? Would He force people to believe? How would they know He is God? Would He destroy unbelievers? What would He expect of His followers?
Martin Luther wrote that “the evangelist John is a master above all the other evangelists, for he treats of this doctrine of Christ’s divinity and His humanity persistently and diligently. He joins these two natures together. When Christ becomes man, He speaks to us, performs miracles, and dies according to His humanity. And then His divinity is also established with plain words.” (AE 23:77)
Join us on Sunday mornings in the FLC during the Sunday School Hour (9:30-10:30 AM) for a new Bible study, “Word Made Flesh in the Gospel of John.” As you prayerfully prepare to be enriched by God’s Word, here are some things to think about:
1. How does your life reflect that Jesus is God in the flesh? (Jn. 13:35)
2. Do you know how to use Scripture to show someone else that Jesus is God? (Jn. 14:9)
3. Do you rely on the Spirit to comfort you, teach you, produce growth, bear witness through you, and guide you into all the truth? (Jn. 14-16)
4. What is truth? Do you share it? (Jn. 17:17-18)
